Music

Here at St Bart's, as in many other Episcopal parishes, music plays an important role in liturgy of the church. Our small choir of dedicated men and women sing music in the Anglican tradition ranging from pre-Bach to the present. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 and the choir sings for the 10am Eucharist, supported by a 3-manual Allen digital organ. The music department always welcomes new members. The ability to read music is preferred but not demanded; however, it is necessary to be able to match pitch and sing in tune. We are blessed to have very fine section leaders.

We have special instrumentalists at Christmas and Easter and three to four concerts a year given by local performers. All concerts are free and open to the public although donations are warmly appreciated. Concerts are held in the month of February.

St. Bartholomew's is pleased to announce that Concordia Vocal Ensemble, a non-religious choral group that specializes in pre-Baroque music, are now Artists in Residence. This group gives several concerts and choral evensongs throughout the year.
