Altar and Flower Guild

Our Altar and Flower Guilds play equally important parts in bringing reverence and beauty to the worship life of this community of faith. In maintaining the parish's inventory of sacred vessels and vestments as well as assuring that all things are "decently in order" for the worship services, the Altar Guild has year-round duties. From ordinary Sundays to the great festivals of Christmas and Easter, our Flower Guild creates lovely, fitting, and often stunning arrangements that bring joy and beauty to our worship. Both groups welcome newcomers, are glad to train any who wish to learn how to share in this work, and provide very suitable opportunities to remember and honor loved ones through gifts of memory and thanksgiving.

Service Activities

Still other men and women offer God their "bounden duty and service" as Lay Readers, Eucharistic Ministers and Visitors, Ushers and Greeters at regular church services and by carrying God's gifts of love and healing to those who are in hospital, nursing facilities or home-bound.

E.C.W.

Every woman who is a member of the Episcopal Church is automatically a member of its E.C.W. - Episcopal Church Women. At St. Bartholomew's they play an indispensable role in our community life. Working, playing, witnessing and praying together, this group gathers in most months for faith-enriching and community-building. Through the year they sponsor special events which enable them to support a variety of outreach programs.

Under the leadership of our Parish Administrator, a great company of volunteers help to keep St. Bartholomew's humming. But it's not all work and worship here. There's lots of fun too. Our annual Mardi Gras party - complete with Dixieland jazz - is just one example but a favorite of all.

Like all Episcopal parishes, St. Bartholomew's looks to its Vestry for leadership and direction. This group of men and women are elected by their fellow members and serve a stated term
